Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a condition related to brain development that impacts how an individual perceives and socializes with others, causing problems in social interaction and communication. The disorder also includes limited and repetitive patterns of behaviour. The term spectrum in Autism Spectrum Disorder refers to the wide range of symptoms and
severity.
We use The Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) approach to assist our students with ASD. Here, we work on student’s self-care skills, social skills, communication skills, play skills and the ability to control one’s own behaviour. We also address basic school syllabus, allowing our students to get familiar with basic schooling syllabus.
ADHD/ADD
Individuals with ADHD/ADD have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviours (acting out without thinking about consequences) and/or being over- active.
With ADHD/ADD students, we use The Behavioural Therapy Approach. This allows student and facilitator/family members to strengthen positive behaviours of child and/or reduce negative behaviour, thus allowing students to focus better and expand their social skills.
Learning difficulties
Learning difficulties are a group of disorders involving significant difficulties in the learning or development skills, habits or qualities. These may include but are not limited to; writing, reading, listening, speaking, mathematical abilities, slow processing, impulse control and/or reasoning. Here, individuals, struggle with word recognition, word pronunciation and alphabet/word formation (spelling). Individuals take longer to make sense of concepts and respond to information given to them (either written or spoken).
Sit down activities and play therapy are used to address all learning difficulties that our little stars experience. We tailor each session to accommodate the needs and address all learning difficulties, to get the best results out of our students.
Mainstream Private Tuition - Grade R to Grade 7
In this faculty, extra tuitions are given to all mainstream students, addressing all areas of learning difficulties. We offer private tuition for learners from Grade R to Grade 7 (all subjects, following the mainstream school syllabus).
